VFW Post 2266 brings a lot of help and opportunity to our veterans. We also have things to offer to our community, such as fundraising for local school sports teams and programs like J.R.O.T.C, as well as a large space for events and an in-house canteen to provide refreshments for those events. For our veterans we can offer services such as assistance with V.A. disability claims and even liaison with other agencies to get those in need the help they require and deserve. Our members enjoy lively weekends at our Post with either live music or karaoke on Friday's. We enjoy broadcasting sporting events on our big screen TV as well as the flat screen in the canteen. Our VFW Auxiliaries do a wonderful job preparing meals on a daily basis at a nominal price. There are games to be played such as regular dart tournaments but also areas to be enjoyed as a family such as our children's playground. We try to make sure there is something here for everyone and hope you will come down to see for your self.

VFW POST 2266 COMMANDER

Commander Larry Stroud I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our VFW Post 2266 web site. Please enjoy our web site and we hope to see you down here soon. To all of our existing members: For those of you who missed the Visitation of our VFW State Commander Bobby Price and State Ladies Auxiliary President Joyce Bilyeu, you missed a full day of meetings, lunch, dinner and Polynesian dancers. Terry and Bob Magner made those arrangements for us and I am very grateful to them. Brian, Shirley, and Jerry did a fantastic job in organizing, and orchestrating the meal plan out on the barbeques, and the setup and teardown of the food tables. Tony and Donna managed the kitchen with plenty help from Post and Auxiliary volunteers great job to all that pulled together and made this happen. Our Men’s Auxiliary officers, lead by President Stuart Myers, dedicated the “Kids Swing Set” during the good of the order of the District meeting. District Commander Bill Seifort and District President Rosie Rincon were very pleased with the arrangements made, as was Bobby and Joyce. The Sweepstakes donation terminals in the game room are attracting players and the word is getting out as to the fun that you can have. The new ATM in the canteen is finally working and providing the extra cash that members and guests have been asking for. The ATM is a little sensitive. If you have a problem, ask Teresa to help. She has the magic touch. The Sweepstakes and ATM are both revenue generating machines and designed to provide Veteran Services, support the canteen and Don Schafer’s efforts. Congratulations to Don Cataldo and his new team for 2012-13. We’ve had a great 2011-12 year. Please continue on with being volunteers and supporting the Post. See you around.

MEMBER TESTIMONIAL

My name is Breadon, and I've been a member of this VFW Post since 2008. I was medically discharged from the Marine Corps after I had served 7 years. I had trouble adjusting to civilian life after I left the military. My wife told me that I should go down to the VFW and see how I liked it. I found what I was looking for when I walked through their doors. It was a comfortable atmosphere and I was welcomed with open arms. I found great friends, both my own age and older, as well as help finding direction for myself. These days I try and give back to the VFW because of everything this organization did for me. My wife and daughter and I enjoy the Post's live music events as well as the special ceremonies and just hanging out as a family at the playground. That's not to say that I don't still enjoy having a drink with my friends on our own as well. I hope to see you down here soon.
